Askew Bar & Lounge
150 Chestnut Street
Providence, RI

Askew Bar & Lounge was established in 2018 by John “Cyco” Difruscio and Windsong Hadley based on their shared passion for local Providence artists and performers and their goal of creating a space for all people to have fun and socialize. The bar operates as both a laid-back cocktail lounge and a live entertainment venue showcasing local musicians, comedians and other artists. Askew also promotes the work of local artists and brings together businesses in the community by offering a posting wall for people to network. The business’ house radio plays local musicians all day and the space is available to host events and offers DJs, catering, photographers, etc., for parties of any budget. Askew also offers comfort food and a variety of classic and inventive craft cocktails for guests to enjoy while relaxing or dancing.

According to Bar Manager Taylor Gendron, one of Askew’s most requested specialty cocktails is its Lady Marmalade Mochatini. Created by Founder and Owner Windsong Hadley, the delicious tipple is named for the song “Lady Marmalade” and is a blend of vodka, Irish cream and espresso, embossed with Askew’s signature “A” in chocolate syrup, which is “usually spotted out on the dance floor on someone’s martini,” Gendron said. “Through the years, the bartenders have made it a staple drink at Askew thanks to their creativity, beautiful presentation and sass,” Hadley said.
