Mohegan Sun and Tao Group Hospitality opened Beauty & Essex, a new restaurant and lounge that fuses opulence with intrigue, in February. The anticipated dining destination officially offers award-winning cuisine, inventive cocktails and a signature speakeasy vibe. With an 11,000-square-foot footprint inside Mohegan Sun’s Casino of the Sky, Beauty & Essex blends vintage charm with modern luxury. Guests enter through a curated modern-day pawn shop—a signature element of the Beauty & Essex brand—before discovering a multiroom dining event featuring Pearl Lounge & Bar, an intimate cocktail haven; Peacock Dining Room, where artful design meets artful cuisine; and the Locket Private Dining Room, an exclusive setting for private events. The drinks menu features an expertly curated wine and spirits list, while its craft cocktails offer a showcase on par with the venue’s attention to detail in both design and execution.

Cocktail: Beauty Elixir
Ingredients:
» 1.5 oz. Bombay Sapphire Gin
» 1 oz. strawberry puree
» .5 oz. lemon juice
» .25 oz. simple syrup
» .5 oz. La Marca Prosecco Rosé
» Garnish: cucumber slice
The Beauty Elixer cocktail.
Method: Add all ingredients (except prosecco) to a tin with ice and shake. Strain into a coupe glass and top with prosecco rosé. Garnish with a cucumber slice.
