Bouvery CV Chocolate Liqueur was showcased during an interactive program at Hartford’s Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art on Feb. 23. Led by Curator Linda Roth, during Stories in Silver: The Chocolate Pot, guests learned about the historical connection between silver and chocolate while sipping a signature cocktail featuring Bouvery CV Chocolate Liqueur, a spirit produced at Westford Hill Distillers in Ashford. Danny Bouvery, Founder, Bouvery CV, was in attendance to educate guests on the unique chocolate vodka liqueur, distributed in Connecticut by Votto Vines. Bouvery CV Chocolate Liqueur uses a locally produced Connecticut corn vodka blended with cacao sourced from South America and West Africa with Rainforest Alliance, fair trade and UTZ certifications and natural flavors to create a rich dark chocolate taste in an artisanal liqueur offering that is gluten-free and low-fat. Guests also enjoyed an 18th-century hot cocoa recipe; dishes from Hartford’s Monte Albán, including the venue’s house special mole poblano, with chicken served in a rich and complex chocolate and chili-based sauce; and artisan chocolates by Norwalk’s House of Knipschildt while viewing artifacts in the museum’s new Silver Vault installation. Sponsored by the Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation Fund at the Wadsworth Atheneum, Stories in Silver is an ongoing event series exploring the history behind the objects in the museum’s collection.
