
Brescome Barton hosted a wine pairing dinner showcasing Napa Valley wines from Frog’s Leap Vineyards at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell on Feb. 5. During the Frog’s Leap Vineyards Winemaker’s Dinner, guests enjoyed a five-course meal prepared by the culinary team at TPC River Highlands. Featured wines included Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc 2020, Frog’s Leap Chardonnay 2019, Frog’s Leap Merlot 2019 and Frog’s Leap Cabernet Sauvignon 2018. Located in California’s Napa Valley, Frog’s Leap Winery was established in 1981 by John Williams and Larry Turley. Today, the family-owned winery is known for using organically grown grapes from dry-farmed vineyards to make its award-winning wines.

- Showcased wines: Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc 2020, Frog’s Leap Chardonnay Shale and Stone, Frog’s Leap Merlot 2019 and Frog’s Leap Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon 2018.
- The first course, a scallop with grapefruit, raspberry, beet and frisée, was paired with Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc 2020.
- The third course, seared duck with cherry molasses, sweet potato, fennel and parsnip, was paired with Frog’s Leap Merlot 2019.
- The fourth course, beef filet with crab, asparagus, scalloped potato and red wine reduction, was served with Frog’s Leap Cabernet Sauvignon 2018. Dessert was chocolate mousse with candied orange peel over toasted marshmallow.
