Brescome Barton hosted a first-ever Restaurant Games competition at Mohegan Sun Casino on April 2. Fourteen beverage teams of three each from Connecticut venues faced off in a three-round battle that tested both their physical skills and industry expertise. Clad in event uniforms sponsored by Casamigos Tequila, the teams faced an opening round with four timed competitions: the Suntory Toki Team Garnish Relay, Stolichnaya Vodka Olive Stuffing, Boulevard Tank 7 Perfect Pour and Three Olives Vodka Martini Carry. The four teams with the most points advanced to the second round, Pernod Ricard Jeopardy, which tested the contestants’ wine, spirits and cocktail knowledge. The two teams with the most points advanced to the final round, the Santa Margherita Sabering Relay. The first team with all three members to successfully saber their bottles was crowned the 2018 Brescome Barton Restaurant Games Champion. The winning team was Erin DiBiaso, Pat DeLeva and Jennifer Williams from New Haven’s Shell & Bones Oyster Bar & Grill.
