
Brescome Barton celebrated Negroni Week by hosting a cocktail competition at RoadRunner Kitchen + Bar in Bridgeport on Sept. 25. Led by Chris Munk, Account Development Manager, Brescome Barton, local bartenders created their best Negroni variations using Campari and their choice of spirits, fortified wines, vermouths, ports and sherries for a panel of judges. The winners were: First place: Ozzy Casco, Bartender, RoadRunner Kitchen + Bar with his cocktail, Ichi Ni San: lychee-infused Junmai sake, strawberry and coconut-infused Campari, Gallo Sweet Vermouth and an expressed lemon garnish; Second place: Junior León, Bartender, The Chelsea, with his cocktail, The Prickley Negroni: Teremana Blanco Tequila, Campari, sweet vermouth and prickly jalapeño simple syrup; and Third place: Allan Heady, Bartender, Tautog Tavern, with his cocktail, Boulevardier of Broken Dreams: a blend of bourbon, Campari and sweet vermouth with an orange twist.
