Bulleit and Counter Weight Brewing Co. celebrated the release of a new collaborative brew featuring Bulleit Bourbon with a Bulleit & Beer event on Oct. 6. Held in Counter Weight Brewing Co.’s taproom in Cheshire, guests were treated to an exclusive tasting of the Bulleit Bourbon Barrel Aged Beer, Bygone, brewed by Counter Weight and aged in Bulleit Bourbon barrels at its taproom through a program called Bulleit & Beer, along with tastes of Bulleit Bourbon and Counter Weight beers on draft. Guests paired beverage selections with food from local restaurants. Bulleit Bourbon, a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey produced at the Bulleit distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky, and the Bulleit distillery in Shelbyville, Kentucky, offers a high rye content and is aged for at least six years. Bygone is a classic Old Ale aged in Bulleit Bourbon barrels for six months. Brimming with complex malt and barrel character, Bygone, 9.4% ABV, is a deep burgundy in color, offering notes of brown sugar, fig, marzipan, English toffee and caramel throughout.
