Campari America and Aperol teamed up with local pizza restaurants in an effort to raise funds for hospitality-industry workers in need. Beginning on National Pizza Day, Feb. 9, through Pi Day, March 14, Aperol fans were encouraged to share photos of their Aperol Spritz cocktails along with a slice of pizza from their favorite local pizza place, with #aperollovespizza and @aperolusa. In support of hospitality workers, and as a nod to Pi Day, Aperol donated an initial contribution of $31,415 to the nonprofit Another Round Another Rally, which provides financial support to hospitality professionals in the U.S. through COVID-19 relief grants. For each Instagram post featuring a pizza pairing with an Aperol Spritz cocktail with the tag #aperollovespizza and @aperolusa, Aperol donated an additional $3.14. Local restaurants contributed to the effort with pizza donations and promotional events. Olives and Oil in Seymour donated 30 pizzas to first responders at Griffin Hospital and hosted an Aperol Brunch event at their flagship location in New Haven on March 14. Cheshire’s Bella’Gio also featured Aperol Spritzes on their menu for Pi Day.
