Team from Connecticut Distributors, Inc.’s Considine and Vanguard divisions were treated to a visit to New York’s historic Tuthilltown Spirits Distillery on March 8. The group toured the 200-year-old gristmill turned distillery, learning about its history and current innovative distilling practices, from founder Ralph Erenzo’s goal to revitalize whiskey production in New York when he founded the distillery in 2003 to its position today as a leading craft spirits distiller. Gathering in the distillery’s Visitor Center, which serves as its gift shop, tasting room and cocktail bar, the team enjoyed tastes of the Hudson Whiskey line. Each of the distillery’s seven expressions are made from locally sourced grains and its current lineup includes Bright Lights, Big Bourbon New York Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Do the Rye Thing New York Straight Rye Whiskey, Short Stack New York Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Maple Syrup Barrels, Back Room Deal New York Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Peated Scotch Barrels, Four Part Harmony, New York Four Grain Bourbon, New York Straight Bourbon 5 Year Old and Hudson 3 Year Old Mets Limited Edition.
