Quiver Spiced Honey Spirit was featured at a bartending competition at Little River Restoratives in Hartford on Dec. 13. Local bartenders and cocktail connoisseurs enjoyed a friendly competition using Quiver Spiced Honey Spirit, a Lithuanian Krupnikas, as the base spirit while they mixed up cocktails behind Little River’s bar for a panel of judges. The winners were Eric Sepulveda, The Half Door; Randi Bayne, Cocktail Enthusiast; and Chris Moriondo, Home Bartender/Cocktail Enthusiast. Quiver Spiced Honey Spirit is a Krupnikas, a spirit that has been popular in Lithuania for centuries. The brand was founded by brothers Ed and Tomas Nenortas, whose recipe is rooted in their Lithuanian-American family history. Their grandparents shared homemade recipes, which used only natural ingredients and a “mysterious array” of earthy spices. Quiver Spiced Honey Spirit offers a complex flavor and is smooth enough to sip on its own, offering sweet honey flavors that build up to a “warm spicy Quivering finish.” The Connecticut-founded brand is made at Central CT Distillers in East Hartford and distributed in the state by Brescome Barton.
