The Northeast U.S. Distiller’s Roadshow, an exclusive event showcasing Constellation Brands’ portfolio of distillers to multiple stops across the region, visited New Haven’s Hotel Marcel on April 5. The meet-and-greet with renowned U.S. spirits makers showcased Brandon O’Daniel, Master Distiller, Copper & Kings American Brandy Company of Louisville, Kentucky; Jamie Sebesta, Blender, High West Distillery of Park City, Utah; and Andy Nelson, Co-founder and Head Distiller, Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery of Nashville, Tennessee. The event kicked off with a bartender showdown, where several local bartenders served batched cocktails to guests, who voted on their favorites. The winner was Bridget Hurley with her cocktail Sage Against the Machine, a blend of High West Double Rye, Aperol, sage, blackberry, lemon and black peppercorns. After sipping cocktails and meeting the distillers, guests sat down for an educational tasting, a panel discussion and a question-and-answer session.
