The second day of The Wonder of the Cocktail event on June 21 included three educational mixology seminars in the afternoon, followed by a private chef dine around event in the evening, which featured Connecticut’s top chefs preparing food for guests alongside paired cocktails. The seminars began with an Amaro Master Class at Foxwood’s VUE 24 restaurant, which gave attendees an in-depth look at the history of vermouth and amaro, from 18th century Italy through today. Next was an educational discussion on The Glenlivet Single Malt at Foxwoods’ Cedars Steakhouse & Oyster Bar. Pernod Ricard Brand Ambassador Neyah White gave an overview on the tradition and history of making Scotch, then led guests through a tasting of The Glenlivet and Aberlour single malt Scotch whiskies. The final seminar showcased Laphroaig, led by Harrison Love, Brescome Barton Sales Representative and Connecticut State Manager for Beam-Suntory, Inc.
