Wallingford’s Dragonfly Wine & Spirits hosted a wine and bourbon tasting at its Center Street location on Jan. 20. Guests enjoyed Josh North Coast Reserve Chardonnay 2021, 90+ Cellars Lot 27 Barbera d’Alba Superiore 2020 and Penelope Four Grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey during the Friday evening event. “The Friday night wine tastings are a lot of fun and the customers really appreciate that we do this so that they can try a variety of wines that they may have walked past because they didn’t know what it was or how it tasted,” said Dragonfly Wine & Spirits Owner Brenda Robideau. “I find that in the current economy they really appreciate being able to try before they buy. It’s hard to spend money on something when you don’t know if you are going to like it or not … I’m glad that we are able to do the tastings and allow people to decide if a wine is or isn’t for their palate or budget.” Situated in Wallingford’s town center, Robideau has owned and operated the shop since 2019, which has been named Best Liquor Store for 2021 and Best Liquor Store and Best Wine Selection for 2022 in the Record-Journal Readers Choice Awards.
