Elijah Craig Bourbon, in partnership with online magazine PUNCH, hosted Old Fashioned Week Oct. 16-25, a virtual celebration featuring celebrity chefs, bartenders and bourbon experts. All with the goal of raising money for hospitality workers whose livelihoods and lives have been affected by COVID-19, the celebration also featured live cocktail and cooking demonstrations, trivia, musical performances and more. Celebrity Chef Richard Blais hosted a segment on Oct. 21, joined by Sother Teague, Bartender and Writer; Jeffrey Morgenthaler, Bartender and Writer; Conor O’Driscoll, Master Distiller, Heaven Hill Distilleries; and Lynn House, National Brand Educator, Heaven Hill Brands. Viewers were invited to make donations throughout the 10-day celebration to benefit the Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation, a nonprofit “created by and for restaurant and food service workers.” Participants also entered the foundation’s Old Fashioned Sweepstakes, with a chance to win a home bar kit. Elijah Craig announced it would donate funds of up to $100,000 to the foundation for each entry received. The Elijah Craig line offers premium and super-premium bourbon whiskies produced in Kentucky by Heaven Hill Distilleries.
