
Farm Fresh Rhode Island hosted its annual Local Food Fest on the lawn of Newport’s Castle Hill Inn on August 13. Guests enjoyed freshly made seasonal fare prepared by local chefs paired with cocktails and local wine and beer selections with a view of the bay and Newport Bridge. The event was sponsored by Castle Hill Inn and Newport Restaurant Group. Proceeds benefited Pawtucket’s Farm Fresh Rhode Island, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local farms and increasing community access to locally grown foods.
- Guests were welcomed with a glass of Chateau Ste. Michelle Brut Champagne.
- The event’s bar menu included beer from Beer’d Brewing Co., Foolproof Brewing Company, Lone Pine Brewing Company, Narragansett Beer, Proclamation Ale Company, Revival Brewing Co., Whalers Brewing Company and Shaidzon Beer Company and cocktails featuring spirits from Newport Craft Brewing + Distilling Co.

- A signature event cocktail, Deep Roots, created by Catherine Hood of Eight Seas, featuring Bully Boy Boston Rum, Bully Boy Amaro, Cloud 9 Tea and cranberry, jalapeño, lime, watermelon, red currant and habanero shrub.
- Christina Mercado, Bar Director, The Vanderbilt and Liz Sawtelle, General Manager, Nicks on Broadway created signature event cocktails for guests.
- A Thai Blue Sky cocktail created by Christina Mercado, Bar Director, The Vanderbilt featuring Rhodium Vodka, Chang’s Tisane Tea local blueberries, sweet corn, Thai basil and cucumbers from Osamequin Farm and Four Town Farm.
- The Yacht Club Seltzer line includes 25 flavors, including lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, strawberry and grape.
