
The Ocean State Oyster Festival, a member of the Ocean State Aquaculture Association, hosted its annual celebration of Rhode Island’s bounty at Farm Fresh RI in Providence on Nov. 4. Guests enjoyed raw bars from eight Rhode Island-based oyster growers, along with an array of beverage offerings, food trucks The Shuckin’ Truck and Sunset Farm, and live music by Bud Runner, the Z-Boys and Dave Tessier’s All Stars. Showcased beer brands included Grey Sail Brewing of Rhode Island, Newport Craft Brewing + Distilling Co., Shaidzon Beer Company and Whalers Brewing Company. Guests enjoyed cocktails with featured spirits from Providence-based The Industrious Spirit Company, Milagro Tequila and select wines, including Le Colture Prosecco Sylvoz, Codorniu Clasico Cava Brut, The Cottage Sauvignon Blanc and Aveleda Loureiro Alvarinho Branco Vinho Verde. Each year, the festival partners with The Nature Conservancy in RI and CVS Volunteers to reclaim the discarded oyster shells for a reef building program and helps festival attendees separate landfill waste from composted materials and recycled items.
