
Hartley & Parker Limited, Inc., hosted a cocktail competition highlighting Fernet-Branca at @ the Corner in Litchfield on June 13. Seven local bartenders competed, creating their best cocktails featuring the iconic Italian brand for a panel of blind judges: Demetra Modeen, Key Account Manager, Hartley & Parker Limited, Inc.; Jen Chapin, Vice President of Sales, Branca USA; and David Avery, Regional Portfolio Manager, Branca USA. The winner was Andres Monroy, Viron Rondo Osteria/1928 Cocktail Club, who received a custom Fernet-Branca bicycle and swag bag, which included a Fernet-Branca cocktail book, apparel and collectibles. The runners-up were Alfredo Gonzales, @ the Corner South St., and Justin Garvy, Republic Gastropub, who, along with all the participants, received Fernet-Branca-branded prizes. Fernet-Branca, a style of amaro originating in Italy, was first formulated in Milan in 1845 and is one of the best-known Italian bitters, with 27 herbs, roots and spices that make up its formula.
