Bridgeport’s Fifth State Distillery visited retailers during the winter holidays to showcase its Connecticut-made sprits, including Fifth State Chocolate XS, a decadent chocolate liqueur, and Fifth State Wonderful Water, a nutmeg liqueur. Founders Bridget and Rob Schulten served up samples at Mo’s Wine & Spirits Fairfield, where shoppers enjoyed tastes in a Chocolate Martini, featuring Fifth State Chocolate XS liqueur, Fifth State Premium Vodka and a touch of Baileys, and a Spiked Eggnog, made with Fifth State Wonderful Water Nutmeg Liqueur. Fittingly using Connecticut’s Nutmeg State nickname, which honors Yankee ingenuity, the liqueur is created from a nutmeg recipe from the year 1800. The duo also visited Greenfield Hill Wines in Fairfield. All of its award-winning gins and spirits, including Fifth State Gin, Fifth State Seville Gin, Fifth State Vodka, Fifth State Ginger Zap Vodka, Fifth State Simply Celery Vodka, Fifth State Wonderful Water Nutmeg Liqueur, Fifth State Limoncello and Fifth State CT Maple Whiskey, among them, are self-distributed across Connecticut.
