Pawtucket’s Foolproof Brewing Company, in collaboration with the American Legion Auxiliary Post 85 of Woonsocket, hosted a fundraiser in support of the Purple Up campaign on April 23. The public turned out in support of the local nonprofit, which provides support and extracurricular activities for children of military families with parents who are on active duty in Rhode Island. Guests enjoyed a number of Foolproof beers on tap, along with cornhole, games and food from local food trucks. The American Legion Auxiliary raised funds through the sale of merchandise and raffle tickets, with the grand prize of a signed team jersey from the Boston Bruins. Foolproof sponsored beer pours for guests who purchased Purple Up cups from the American Legion Auxiliary. Each year, the whole month of April is celebrated as the Month of the Military Child to recognize and support kids who are in military life. Purple Up Day, specifically, is celebrated on April 15 every year.
