Barrington’s Grapes & Grains celebrated its 11th anniversary with a grand tasting for the public on March 25. In November of 2011, Owner Matt Amaral made history when he was awarded the first-ever Class A liquor retail license in the town, among the last, if not the last, “dry” towns in New England. In March of 2012, Grapes & Grains opened its doors. Guests enjoyed a range of fine imported and domestic fine wines, poured by representatives from state distributors, including Mancini Beverage – Best Beverage division, MS Walker of RI and Wine Wizards. State- and regionally made selections included craft beer from Narragansett Beer and Buttonwoods Brewery, bottled craft cocktails from Grey Sail Brewing’s sister brand South County Distillers, handcrafted spirits from Rhode Island Spirits and Bully Boy Distillers, among brands. Barrington’s Rind Cheese Shop provided assorted artisanal cheeses and charcuterie for guests to pair with samples.
