March marked Women’s History Month. In line with an honorific month of history and education around innovative and pioneering women, Great Women Spirits from Francis Ford Coppola launched in Connecticut via Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI). The collection of spirits is crafted in a style that reflects the individual character of the trailblazers each is named for and proofed with pristine water from the Coppola’s Napa Valley Estate. Ada Lovelace California Distilled Dry Gin honors the first computer programmer, born in 1815 in London; The Countess Walewska Authentic Premium Potato Vodka, Polish patriot, political influencer and Napoleon’s loyal companion; Hypatia Rubi Amaro, named for the renowned teacher, mathematician, astronomer and philosopher of philosophy in fourth-century Egypt; Dorothy Arzner Straight Rye California Whiskey, honoring the only female director working in Hollywood’s Golden Age during the 1920s who later taught Francis Ford Coppola film at UCLA; and Maria Gaetana Agnesi 1799 Small Batch American Brandy, 18th-century mathematician, philosopher theologian and the first female mathematics professor at a university whose 1799 small-batch American brandy honors her intellectual legacy.
