
Hartford Magazine announced the winners of its 17th Annual Best of 2020 awards in October. The Best Neighborhood Bar distinction was given to Red Rock Tavern in Hartford, with Alvarium Beer Co. in New Britain named First Runner Up and J. Timothy’s Taverne in Plainville named Second Runner Up. In the Best Bar Restaurant category, J. Timothy’s Taverne was the winner, with Cheshire’s Viron Rondo Osteria named First Runner Up and Willimantic Brewing Company named Second Runner Up. Best Beer List in a Restaurant went to Middletown’s Eli Cannons Tap Room, with Storrs’ Hops 44 named First Runner Up and West Hartford’s World of Beer named Second Runner Up. In the Best of Cocktails category, Middletown’s Conspiracy was named winner, with West Hartford’s Bartaco and Cheshire’s Bella’Gio Ristorante & Pizzeria tied for First Runner Up. Best Pub went to West Hartford’s The Corner Pug, with The Main Pub in Manchester taking First Runner Up and Hartford’s Vaughan’s Irish Public House named Second Runner Up. Best Wine List in a Restaurant went to J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood in Glastonbury, with Hartford’s Max Downtown and Bin228 Wine Bar named First and Second Runner Ups, respectively. Each year, winners are selected by reader’s votes in almost 200 categories, including Food & Drink, Entertainment, Retail, Wellness and Beauty, Home, and more.
