Highclere Castle Gin presented a high-spirited, immersive cocktail experience hosted live online on Sept. 24. The evening was hosted by Founder and Director of Beyond Curated Linda Hugo, a luxury event producer based in the U.K., and Adam von Gootkin, Co-founder and CEO of Highclere Castle Gin, makers of the award-winning Highclere Castle Gin with North American offices based in Essex, Connecticut. The event melded education and entertainment. Guests included Luis Coelho, Head Butler and Chief Mixologist at Highclere Castle, and Lord and Lady Carnarvon, 8th Earl and Countess of Highclere Castle, with a varied program of the award-winning gin’s brand introduction by von Gootkin, cocktail and mixology education by Coelho, and magical interludes by Illusionist Mr. Sav, who offered sleights of hand including producing a bottle of Highclere Gin from a spark. Coelho created several classic Highclere Castle cocktails during the session: A Highclere Gin & Tonic, The White Lady and A Classic Negroni, all while accompanied by Lord and Lady Carnarvon, who shared the castle’s rich place in history and its iconic use as the location for “Downton Abbey,” among other highlights.
