Highland Imports launched award-winning Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey, new to the Connecticut market. Named International Craft Producer of the Year for 2020 by Whisky Magazine, Dad’s Hat is distilled, aged and bottled at its distillery in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Founded by Herman Mihalich and John Cooper, who serves as Blender, the duo of James Beard Foundation Awards 2017 semifinalists makes its whiskies by hand, in small batches, using only natural, local ingredients and the highest-quality rye grain sourced from a local farm in Bucks County. Its mash bill of 80% rye grain, 15% barley malt and 5% rye malt delivers “a classic Pennsylvania-style” rye flavor profile, distinctly different from the Kentucky, Indiana or Canadian style.
