
Horizon Beverage Company of Rhode Island, Origin Beverage Division, hosted a seminar and tasting featuring Nikka Japanese Whisky at Nikki’s Liquors in Providence on October 9. Horizon’s Ben Terry, Rhode Island Craft Brand Manager, led guests through an exploration of six Nikka Whisky expressions: Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt, Nikka Miyagikyo Single Malt, Nikka Yoichi Single Malt, Nikka Coffey Grain, Nikka Coffey Malt and Nikka From the Barrel. The latest offering available in the U.S. from Japanese distiller Nikka Whisky, From the Barrel is a complex blended whisky, crafted from a blend of 100-plus batches of malt whisky and grain whisky and aged in multiple types of bourbon barrels, Sherry butts and hogsheads.
