Horizon Beverage Co. hosted a wine luncheon featuring Napa Valley’s Promontory at La Masseria in East Greenwich on March 7. Mollie Maisch, Ambassador, Promontory Winery, was in attendance to present the educational tasting. Members of the Horizon Beverage Co. team, including Sid Lakhkar, Fine Wine Specialist, and Daryl Chabot, General Manager, Wine Marketing Division, were also on hand to discuss the selections. Guests enjoyed a three-course luncheon prepared by the culinary team at La Masseria, paired with Promontory 2015 and Promontory 2016, each a bold and structured Cabernet Sauvignon. Promontory was founded by H. William Harlan in 2008, part of the Domain H. Harlan group of wines. Located within a secluded canyon in the rugged, western hills of Napa Valley, the terroir yields unique grapes, which are then aged in large Austrian oak casks for five years, resulting in one of the most sought-after Cabernet Sauvignons in the region for each vintage produced. The event opened with Ca’del Bosco Franciacorta Anamaria Clementi 2011, a Franciacorta Riserva, of Chardonnay 65%, Pinot Bianco 20% and Pinot Nero 15%.
