Industry Party Features Miracle Pop-Up

Up n’ Down Rock and Bourbon, in collaboration with Campari America, hosted a holiday industry party at Perfusion Bar in Newtown on Dec. 2. The event showcased the annual national Miracle Pop-Up bar menu, offering a variety of holiday-themed, kitschy craft cocktails, and a special cocktail menu featuring Connecticut-made Up n’ Down Rock and Bourbon. The only Rock and Bourbon in distribution in the U.S., Up n’ Down uses honey, figs, bark, orange zest, bitters and rock candy to create its unique flavor profile, and has a mash bill of corn 75%, rye 21% and barley malt 4%, making it an official Rock and Bourbon. Justin Morales, founder of Connecticut-based Sugar Skull Spirits, LLC’s Up n’ Down Rock and Bourbon, poured tastes of spirits from the product line and signed copies of his book, “Serving Life: Behind Bars, Kitchens, and Hospitality.” Each guest who purchased a book was treated to a special mystery gift. Morales has created and managed beverage and restaurant programs, as well as award-winning cocktail programs, for dozens of venues across the state and region over the course of
three decades.
