The team from Industrious Spirit Company (ISCO) celebrated the release of its Patina Gin, a barrel aged version of its original Ornamental Gin, on Oct. 28. To create Patina Gin, the ISCO team repurposes the charred oak barrels initially used to age its Blue Velvet Bourbon to then age its Ornamental Gin. The oak imparts flavors of sweet vanilla and caramel to the gin, creating complex layers. ISCO produces all of its sustainably sourced spirits line of vodka, gins and bourbons at Providence’s first distillery since Prohibition, making everything completely from scratch onsite. Located on the site of a former industrial mill complex just a mile from downtown Providence, the tasting room is open for visitors. A party showcased Patina Gin in crafted cocktails among highlights. The ISCO line is distributed in Rhode Island by Horizon Beverage Co.
