
Music icon and entrepreneur Shawn Carter, known professionally as Jay-Z, is now an investor in The Finnish Long Drink via his Marcy Venture Partners, co-founded in 2018 with Jay Brown and Larry Marcus. Jay-Z, now a minority stakeholder, joins a number of high-profile investors in The Finnish Long Drink, which also includes actor Miles Teller, professional golfers Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas, and Norwegian DJ Kygo. The ready-to-drink brand was launched in 2018 with the aim of bringing Finland’s national drink to the U.S. In Finland, a “long drink” (in Finnish “lonkero”) is made from gin and grapefruit soda, and a peach flavor as added recently. The Finnish Long Drink will remain run by Co-founders Sakari Manninen, Mikael Taipale and Ere Manner, alongside American entrepreneur Evan Burns. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. In 2021, the company raised $25 million to boost distribution and scale production, according to news reports.
