Johnson & Wales University (JWU) collaborated with Brown-Forman Corporation and Lucky Enough Eat & Drink in Providence Owner Vito Lantz to host the Alumni Jack Daniel’s tasting experience, presented by JWU’s Center for Beverage Education & Innovation (CBEI) in conjunction with its October family weekend. During the afternoon event, JWU faculty, alumni and two student volunteers attending tasted through five Jack Daniel’s products, including Old No. 7, Bonded Rye and Sinatra Select. Representing Jack Daniel’s, Romé Jackson, Brown-Forman Corporation’s SLA Associate State Manager for Rhode Island, provided the product lineup and presented spirits brand education along with Bar and Beverage Professional Greg Mayer, a 2015 Johnson & Wales graduate, and Lantz. Since its founding in 2022, CBEI has collaborated with local industry leaders to host events that “immerse students in the beverage scene, connect them with mentors and help them build careers where they can thrive.” CBEI’s mission is rooted in uniting beverage enthusiasts and professionals, supporting education and creating hands-on learning opportunities for students.
