Campari America teamed up with several New Haven-area bar and restaurant owners to develop a special whiskey barrel from Wilderness Trail Distillery for cocktails that pair with what the New Haven area is known for: its nationally recognized and award-winning pizza. Recently, Gary Dritschler, Connecticut State Manager, Campari America, met with Jason Brown, Wilderness Trail Distillery; Tim Cabral, Ordinary; Glen Greenberg, The Owl Shop; Shane McGowan, Wildcat; and Nick Conti, Conti’s Wines & Spirits, to taste and select a single barrel of whiskey, which will be called New Haven Style. The bottle’s label is designed by local artist Joe Capobianco. Wilderness Trail Distillery crafts its small-batch, bottled-in-bond wheated bourbon, high-rye bourbon and rye whiskey from its historic location in Danville, Kentucky. It is the country’s 14th-largest distillery and a Heritage level member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The whiskey will be available to all customers statewide in Connecticut through Martignetti Companies.
