Madison Beach Hotel hosted a themed wine pairing dinner, “Alsace, France Meets the Connecticut Shoreline,” on October 11 as part of its ongoing Epicurean Series. Philippe Blanck from Domaine Paul Blanck, an award-winning Alsatian winery, showcased his wines during the welcome reception and with each dinner course. Blanck educated guests on the wines, which included Domaine Paul Blanck Pinot Gris Patergarten 2015, Domaine Paul Blanck Pinot Blanc 2018, Domaine Paul Blanck Riesling Rosenbourg 2016, Domaine Paul Blanck Grand Cru Schlossberg Riesling 2015, Domaine Paul Blanck Pinot Gris Late Harvest 2015 Altenbourg and Pinot Gris Patergarten 2015. Guest Chef Mathias Peter created traditional Alsatian Tarte Flambée selections for the reception and dessert by featuring varieties of his famous recipes. Dinner courses were created by Chef Jay Taylor, The Wharf Restaurant, Madison Beach Hotel. Guests, who included iconic chef and author Jacques Pepin, also had the unique experience of enjoying a 1964 Chateau Lafite-Rothschild Paulliac from the wine vault of Ric Duques, Owner, Madison Beach Hotel. The Epicurean Series events are held throughout the year at Madison Beach Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, each with a different theme.
