William Grant & Sons’ Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, with its tagline “100% made for mixing,” brought back its Monkey Mixer to Connecticut at Mohegan Sun’s Casino in May. The Monkey Mixer, which can hold up to 2,400 gallons of liquid, resembles a cement truck with a rotating drum in the shape of a giant cocktail shaker. The giant mixer truck, which debuted in 2018, continues to tour the U.S., stopping at cities in support of the brand. The truck paid a visit to Connecticut on May 28 for the Sun Patio’s grand opening party and launch. Monkey Shoulder, originally created to make whisky cocktails, offers a nose of zesty orange, vanilla, honey and spiced oak with a mellow vanilla flavor with spicy hints. The blend’s smooth, malty and fruity character is “bold enough to stand out in a drink and balanced enough not to take it over.” Guests enjoyed samples of Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky and pre-mixed cocktails served right from the mixer’s tap.
