McLaughlin & Moran recently announced its distribution of Motörhead Ace of Spades Bourbon, released in collaboration with Brew Pipeline, Proof Artisan Distillers and Global Merchandising Services. Aged four years in charred oak barrels, the bourbon is a blend of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% barley. With notes of vanilla on the nose, this bourbon has a balanced combination of spicy and sweet flavors with cinnamon, rye, black pepper and mint. Full-bodied and complex, it tastes of oak, caramelized brown sugar, tobacco and cocoa with a strong cinnamon finish. The Motörhead-approved bourbon is produced and bottled by award-winning small-batch distillery Proof Artisan Distillers in Fargo, North Dakota. Band members Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell have contributed to the development of the bourbon’s flavor profile with frequent tastings throughout the process. Named for their hit album “Ace of Spades,” the bottle features artwork from its cover along with signatures from band members Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee. Also released in collaboration with Brew Pipeline is Motörhead Road Crew Mosaic Pale Ale, at 5% ABV, made by Wisconsin-based brewer Ale Asylum. Motörhead Road Crew raises proceeds in conjunction with Live Nation’s Crew Nation, a global relief fund for workers associated with live music productions, an industry hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic as live music venues and touring band support teams have been sidelined.
- Motörhead Ace of Spades Bourbon is now available in Rhode Island via McLaughlin & Moran.
- Motörhead Road Crew is a single-hop pale ale made with a dozen separate additions of hand-selected mosaic hops, with well-balanced pineapple and tropical aromas and flavors with a slightly dank, resinous character, with a portion of sales to benefit a global relief fund for road crew and live music support workers.
