
MS Walker hosted a lunch at Avvio Ristorante in Cranston featuring Italian Winemaker Chiara Boschis on January 26. Boschis, a ninth-generation organic winemaker, heads the E. Pira & Figli Winery in Barolo, Italy. Boschis is known as the first female winemaker in the Barolo region and one of the top female winemakers in Italy. Trade guests enjoyed a signature Barolo wine with each course, including Dolcetto and Barbera varietals. During the meal, Boschis discussed the unique characteristics of Barolo wines, grown in the prestigious Cannubi vineyard, the terroir and organic farming methods.
