
MS Walker Fine Wines & Spirits’ Jack Couto, National Iberian Portfolio Manager, presented a range of wines from Portugal to Rhode Island sales teams on Jan. 20 at Tavolo Wine Bar & Tuscan Grille in Providence. The group enjoyed exploring the regions of Portugal while pairing brands with light bites, tasting through red wines from Beyra by winemaker Rui Roboredo Madeira, made in the highest altitude of Portugal; Ruelas from the Lisbon region by winemakers António Ventura and Carlos Eduardo; Castello d’Alba from Duriense, Northern Portugal; Quinta Dona Maria, located in Estremoz in the Alentejo region; white wines from Castello d’Alba; Foral, produced by Quinta do Regueiro Estate in the northernmost region of Portugal, Melgaço; Costa do Sol Vinho Verde; and a Port from Van Zellers & Co. of Douro, producing the region’s famed fortified wine since the 18th century.
