Branford’s Murphy Distributors was named the exclusive distributor of Lotus Vodka, the gluten-free, all-natural import from Italy. Lotus Vodka is a “fine mixing vodka with a natural base and warm and inviting aroma of subtle citrus and herbs.” Since countless food items, including alcoholic beverages, are produced with wheat, barley or rye ingredients, choices for a strict gluten-free diet can be limiting. Lotus gluten-free Vodka is served at Pasta Cosi restaurant in Branford. The two businesses also hosted a hard lemonade campaign in August. For every bottle of Lotus vodka used to make a signature cocktail, Lotus Lemonade and sold at Pasta Cosi during the month of August, Murphy Distributors and Pasta Cosi, co-donated a portion of the proceeds and sponsored a Shoreline family to provide needed food, clothing and assistance.
