
The Newport Oyster Festival kicked off with an Opening Night Benefit Party on May 17 in Bowen’s Wharf. Guests mingled under festival tents with local oyster growers, enjoying a catered dinner paired with showcased selections of beer, wine and cocktails. Featured brands included presenting sponsor Moët & Chandon, along with Whalers Brewing Company of Rhode Island, Cloudy Bay Vineyards of New Zealand, Ardbeg Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Naked Turtle White Rum, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Belvedere Vodka and Tanqueray London Dry Gin. Proceeds benefited The Nature Conservancy in Rhode Island, Ocean State Aquaculture Association and Rhode Island’s official flagship, the Oliver Hazard Perry.
