Throughout the course of the summer polo season, multiple beverage brands were featured at the annual summer specialty cocktail bar at Newport International Polo Grounds & Pavilion in Portsmouth. Presented by bar talent from The Cocktail Guru team via The Pony Express Bar, each match provided an opportunity to showcase spirits brands from a custom cocktail menu during each international match. Sponsors included Aperol, Cinzano Prosecco, Van Gogh Vodka, Marie Brizard Elderflower Liqueur, Cutty Sark Blended Scotch Whisky, Sipsmith London Dry Gin, Maker’s Mark Whisky, Hornitos Plata Tequila, Tommy Bahama Tommy No. 2 Rum, Montelobos Mezcal, On The Rocks Premium Cocktails, Grand Marnier and RIPE Bar Juice, among them. A new experience, called Après Polo, gave guests an enhanced evening of summer sipping at the venue. On July 23, Après Polo was sponsored by Aperol and Cinzano. Guests enjoyed Italian-tinged and summer-inspired cocktails immediately following the match alongside pizza and gelato catered by Amano Pizza and a chance to meet the players. The match between Newport and Italy went to the home team, who won the match over Italy, 9-7. The Cocktail Guru team has provided bartending services and specialty drink creations at the venue for more than 10 years.
