New Haven’s Oak Haven Table & Bar held a raffle on Thanksgiving Eve for a bottle of 2016 Harlan Estate Bordeaux Blend, donating a portion of the proceeds to the Connecticut Hospitality Employee Relief Fund.
Oak Haven Table & Bar in New Haven celebrated the holidays and raised funds for hospitality workers with a raffle on Nov. 25. The winner received 2016 Harlan Estate Bordeaux Blend and a complimentary dinner for two at Oak Haven. Harlan Estate is an award-winning Napa Valley winery specializing in classic varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Its sought-after 2016 vintage was given a 100-point rating by several celebrity wine critics. Oak Haven’s Al Greenwood donated a portion of the proceeds to the Connecticut Hospitality Employee Relief Fund, a 501(c)(3) foundation created by the Connecticut Restaurant Association to provide emergency funding to hospitality workers affected by business closures and underemployment brought on by COVID-19. Greenwood plans to do another charity raffle on New Year’s Eve with a bottle of 2016 Harlan Estate, a bottle of Bond Quella Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend and a rare six-pack from Tree House Brewing Company in Massachusetts available as prizes.
