Opici Family Distributing of Connecticut added new items: California-made Wolves 5 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey, Ghia apéritifs, Mijenta Maestra Selection 1 Blanco Tequila and Harridan Paranormal Reserve Vodka. Wolves is American whiskey distilled in Sonoma County by 13th-generation Master Distiller Marko Karakasevic using an old, slow brandy still that was imported from Cognac in 1983. Ghia is a nonalcoholic apéritif made with the purest ingredients to offer a vibrant, fresh and satisfyingly bitter taste, like summer on the rocks. It’s vegan with no artificial flavors, no added sugars and no caffeine. Mijenta Maestra Selection 1 Blanco Tequila is made from a single estate in Presa de Otomites, Jesús Maria, Jalisco, Mexico, produced exclusively from Semilla agaves. This is a batch unique in that every plant harvested to produce it were agaves de semilla, agaves grown from seed, which is an industry first. Lastly, in time for October spooky season, is Harridan Vodka Paranormal Reserve. This year, 700 bottles were made, split between two famously haunted locations: the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in West Virginia and the Pennhurst Asylum in Pennsylvania. Each bottle of Paranormal Reserve contains Harridan’s award-winning 88-proof vodka and comes packaged in a hand-numbered engraved wood case and includes the location where it was rested.
- Wolves 5 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey, 48% ABV, is rich and very balanced in flavor, with a smooth and long finish.
- Ghia apéritifs in Signature and Berry flavors are versatile nonalcoholic offerings, just add bubbles.
- Mijenta’s first Maestra Selection is a small-batch, limited-edition artisanal tequila from the highlands of Jalisco that celebrates the traditions of Mexican culture.
- The 2024 release of Harridan Vodka Paranormal Reserve was aged between two haunted locations. Its bespoke wooden case includes handling gloves, an authenticity card and a “prescription pad.”
