Napa Valley’s Opus One Winery has hired Meghan Zobeck as Director of Winemaking. Opus One Winemaker Michael Silacci announced the appointment of Zobeck to the new role. She joins the iconic and award-winning 170-acre Oakville estate, which was founded by Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild in the late 1970s, after serving as Winemaker for Burgess Cellars. She will oversee all wine operations for Napa Valley, including oversight “of the cellar, harvest, laboratory and bottling departments to ensure conformance to winemaking standards including wine blends,” the company announced. Zobeck has worked in winery roles for Trois Noix, Atelier Melka and Screaming Eagle in the U.S. and with Michel Rolland wineries in Bordeaux, Clos Apalta in Chile and Bethany Winery in Australia, among career highlights.
