Local venues and bar teams offered classic options and new twists on the Negroni cocktail to celebrate the annual Imbibe and Campari Negroni Week from June 19-24. Negroni Week 2019 marks an additional milestone for the Campari Negroni, as the cocktail celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Since 2013, Negroni Week has grown from about 120 participating venues to almost 10,000 venues around the world, and to date, has collectively raised about $2 million for charitable causes. Bars and restaurants participated worldwide to raise money for their own selected charitable causes, and people followed along via social media through #NegroniWeek. Participating restaurants in Rhode Island included Pane e Vino, The Dorrance, Figidini, Tavern in the Square Cranston, The Vanderbilt – Auberge Resorts Collection and Scales & Shells.
- Pane e Vino’s Dante Roberto, Bar Manager with the featured Amalfi Negroni. Made with Malfy Blood Orange Gin, Campari, Antica Sweet Vermouth and a homemade Campari sugar rim, garnished with a blood orange.
- The Vanderbilt in Newport offered up Campari-based selections created by Beverage Manager Christina Mercado, including the Inception Negroni made with Campari, Bimini Gin, Sweet Vermouth and a Negroni Pate de Fruit garnish.
- Another Negroni Week signature cocktail creation from The Vanderbilt’s Christina Mercado, Bubble on a Whim, made with Campari, Pomp & Whimsy Gin Liqueur, Sweet Vermouth and Sparkling Rosé.
