Representatives from Goslings Rum were in attendance, along with Malcolm Gosling, President and CEO, Goslings International, a seventh-generation member of the Goslings family. Actor Rome Kirby dressed in historic attire as the brand’s founder, Ambrose Gosling, who created and began to sell the distinctive Goslings Black Seal Rum with his brother James in 1857 from the family’s store in Hamilton, Bermuda. Guests enjoyed classic Dark ‘n Stormy cocktails featuring Goslings Black Seal Rum and Ginger Beer, along with Dark ‘n Stormy ready-to-drink cocktails. Goslings Black Seal Rum has a storied history starting in 1806, when James Gosling, the oldest son of wine and spirits merchant William Gosling, set out bound for America. After 91 desperate days on becalmed seas, the crew landed at the nearest port, St. George’s, Bermuda, where the rum’s story began. Distributed in Rhode Island by Horizon Beverage Co., Goslings Rum is the official rum of Bermuda. Rhode Island’s Gooseneck Vineyards and Whalers Brewing Company were also showcased sips.
