
Sam’s Liquors in Stratford raised funds for a local animal rescue nonprofit with a holiday raffle in December. Raffle winners were invited to purchase allocated and rare bottles of bourbon, with the first winner getting the first pick. Bottles available for purchase were Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey, Buffalo Trace Distillery E. H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey, Booker’s Bourbon Bardstown Batch, Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon, Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series Bourbon and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon. Customers were also invited to bid on top-shelf items, including Buffalo Trace Pappy Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year, Old Forester Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Willet Family Estate Single Barrel 7 Year, Barrell Bourbon 24 Year and Buffalo Trace Weller Antique 107 Bourbon. The highest bidder for each bottle was declared on Christmas Eve. Proceeds from the holiday raffle and auction benefited Stratford Animal Rescue Society (STARS), a nonprofit working to facilitate the adoptions of animals in need of a forever home.
