Saxtons River Distillery founder Christian Stromberg entertained a full house at Divine Wine Emporium in Niantic on November 6, 2014, during a round of visits to the state. The Brattleboro, Vermont, distillery produces bourbon, rye and liqueur made with 100% authentic local maple under the name Sapling Liqueur. Between tasting cocktails such as the Maple Mudslide (which also contains Saxtons’ Perc Coffee Liqueur), the crowd was treated to the Americana songs of James Maple. Stromberg also shared his spirits at Liquor Depot in New Britain and Birch Hill Tavern in Glastonbury in conjunction with South Side Wine Shoppe. The latter event took place as an interview with Stromberg aired on WFSB’s “Better Connecticut.” The Saxtons River Distillery line is distributed in Connecticut by Cellar Fine Wines.
