The annual ShakesBeer Festival was hosted on the grounds of the historic American Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford on Aug. 24. Guests enjoyed tastes from more than 50 local craft breweries, with food truck eats from Cinnabomb Mini-Donut, EP Local, The Melting Truck, Rita’s Pitas, Star Light Treats, SWAT Southern Wings & Things and Vittles. Night Visitors and Jon Hollywood performed live during the afternoon event, while guests enjoyed the many offerings, shopped local craft vendors and played yard games on the venue’s lawn, which overlooks Long Island Sound. The ShakesBeer Festival is organized by local beverage professionals Steven Bilodeau and Pete Rodrigues, who created the annual event to raise money for charitable causes. A portion of the event proceeds benefited athletic scholarships for Stratford students via the Stratford Oldtimers Athletic Association.
