
Kicking off New Haven Sherry Week, Slocum & Sons hosted an evening event with Alvaro Plata, Sherry Master Educator for González Byass, at Olea in New Haven on October 4. Guests enjoyed specialty cocktails featuring Tio Pepe Sherry, González Byass Sherry, Lepanto Solera Gran Reserva Brandy de Jerez, Nomad Outland Whisky and The London No. 1 Gin. Plata created cocktails from the bar, educated guests and also entertained, demonstrating a sherry pour with a barrel dipstick and catching it in a glass. González Byass, located in Jerez, Spain, is known worldwide for its fine sherries.
