South County Distillers, Grey Sail Create New Tastes

By October 31, 2023Rhode Island, Top News

Westerly’s South County Distillers, the sister company of Grey Sail Brewing, launched several new spirits this fall and winter. Spirit of Captain’s Daughter is distilled from Grey Sail’s fan-favorite Captain’s Daughter and then aged in freshly dumped bourbon barrels to create this intriguing spirit, 45% ABV. Each batch features a unique blend of specialty malts and grains, and is then aged in American oak barrels. The bourbon is also offered in its new range of canned cocktails, Whiskey Highball, with flavors such as Cranberry & Orange, 11.4% ABV, making an expertly mixed cocktail convenient. Also new for the holidays, Grey Sail’s Kegnog, a “decadent milkshake IPA with a luscious blend of vibrant hops,” offering sweetness and a smooth finish that creates a dessert-like beer, 6.5% ABV. A winter release, Leaning Chimney, a smoked porter, is also heading for shelves. Opened by husband-and-wife team Alan and Jennifer Brinton, Grey Sail celebrates 12 years this November. Both Grey Sail Brewing and South County Distillers are distributed in Rhode Island via McLaughlin & Moran, Inc.
