Stomping Horse wines expanded its sales footprint by adding on- and off-premise locations via distributor Votto Vines. Stomping Horse was founded by Dawn Page, Steven Shewbrooks and Byron Brewer. Horse lovers, wine lovers and philanthropists, Stomping Horse brings together their passions in a fully realized Connecticut-based wine company whose offerings are bottled directly at the vineyard in Washington State’s Columbia Valley. Its two core offerings are Stomping Horse Chardonneigh Washington Columbia Valley 2021, 100% Chardonnay, and Thoroughblend 2020, 65% Mourvèdre, 27% Syrah, 5% Grenache, 1% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Viognier, from Washington’s Yakima and Columbia valleys. The wines feature rescue horse wine label model Trouper, an off-the-track thoroughbred and his barn mate, Mavis, also a rescue who lives on Page’s farm. A percentage of wine sales are donated to horse rescue and horse/human therapy groups, giving them a second chance just like Trouper and Mavis.
